*POSITION OVERVIEW:* Join our camp community as a Camp Photo & Media Specialist and capture a summer of unforgettable moments! As a key team member, you'll document the excitement, joy, and camaraderie that define our camp experience.
The ideal candidate is a skilled photographer with expertise in digital photography, online photo management, and social media platforms.
Experience in document design, like yearbook and newsletter editing, is a must, as you'll play a crucial role in crafting our cherished "memory book" at the end of each session.
Videography and video content creation are desired skills, but optional.
*SEASON DATES & AVAILABILITY:* * Ability to work Sunday, May 26 - Saturday, July 13, 2024 (7 weeks) * Ability to work 6 days per week, approximately 8 hours per day, on a flexible hourly schedule.
* Ability to live on-site or commute to the Camp (located in Groom Creek, approx.
20 minutes south of Prescott, AZ).
*RESPONSIBILITIES: * * Capture candid and staged photos of campers and staff engaged in various camp activities and programs.
* Ensure a diverse range of shots that highlight the unique spirit and atmosphere of the camp.
* Ensure a high volume of images so that as many campers & staff are photographed each day.
* Minor editing of images, such as adjusting exposure and saturation, cropping, etc.
* Upload photos daily to our online photo hosting site.
* Manage & post to our social media accounts, particularly Instagram and TikTok, to showcase the camp's vibrant environment.
* Collaborate with other staff to coordinate staged photo opportunities and ensure coverage of all activities.
* Utilize design skills to contribute to the creation of and oversee the printing of our session memory books.
* Capture video and create videos for use in marketing as well as social media posts * Other non-essential job duties as defined by the Camp Director, and within reason and scope of practice.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* * Proven experience in digital photography with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse styles and subjects.
* Proficiency in online photo management systems and familiarity with digital editing tools.
* Demonstrated experience in managing social media accounts, especially Instagram and TikTok.
* Proficiency in programs such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
* Design skills for creating yearbooks, newsletters, or similar projects.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
*EQUIPMENT:* The Photo & Media specialist has the option to use their own photography equipment or take advantage of camp-provided cameras and computers.
We understand that each photographer may have preferred tools, and we encourage creativity within our team.
*PHOTO RELEASE/PORTFOLIO USE:* It's crucial to note that by accepting the Photo & Media Specialist position, staff agree to release their rights to the images captured during their tenure.
These images are the property of the camp, and photographers are not permitted to use them for personal portfolios or any external purposes without obtaining express written consent from both campers and staff featured in the photographs.
We prioritize the privacy and comfort of our community members, and this policy helps maintain a respectful and secure environment for everyone involved.
*COMPENSATION:* * Hourly wage starting at $15.
20/hour.
* On-site housing is available, but optional.
