These are GREAT for performing "Rack-pulls" for working the "lock out" of the deadlift and/or your deadlifts typical sticking point (the knees) without having to load up a bunch of weight in a power-rack which all gym goers hate due to the crashing sound of the barbell colliding with the cages' cross-bars.
Using a power-cage is also unsafe for the lifter as the potential for an uneven "pull" will cause the barbell to come down at an oblique angle which causes much propensity for an injury as the two pieces of steel collide and the weight on the barbell becomes dangerously undistributed.
