The cheapest rooms are always suspect, and often bring serious problems that don't show up until after you've already signed a lease agreement.
A free and amazingly accurate method to protect yourself is Google searching the name of the potential landlord and reviews of the address others have posted online.
If you do this, you will have a much better chance of avoiding negative and often times dangerous situations.
Don't be fooled by cheap rent.
It nearly always means substandard living quarters and landlords or other roommates with issues you don't want to be a part of.
Be safe and be smart.
Saving a hundred bucks doesn't matter if you have landlords who enter your room when you're gone or threaten you with frivolous lawsuits when you call them out on their lies and bigotry.
