Role
Under administrative supervision, provides medical leadership to the medical provider team and is responsible for the provision of medical care within the physician’s specialty, scope of practice and area of expertise to patients in an outpatient setting.
Major Duties, Responsibilities Provides comprehensive medical care in accordance with regulations and scope of practice for licensure in Arizona, State, Federal and other grant requirements, and the requirements of all payors.
Responsible for timely, accurate and complete documentation of clinical services provided utilizing the electronic health record (EHR).
Leads the effort in training and improving provider EHR utilization and navigation; attains “super-user” status.
Develops and implements medical guidelines and protocols, standing orders, pharmaceutical formulary.
Provides oversight to ensure cost-effective care delivery in areas of pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, pharmaceutical, and medical procedure utilization.
Responsible for development and implementation of the department Quality Improvement Plan.
Assists in supervision and evaluation of the providers of CHCY to include real-time patient care advice, providing feedback to providers, ensuring providers are meeting quality of care measures and performing periodic chart reviews.
Participates in the recruitment and retention of providers.
Provides clinical training to providers and support staff.
Responds to community emergencies with a public health consequence according to the department’s Emergency Response Plan.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.
D.
) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.
O.
) degree from an accredited medical school with a minimum of three (3) years of residency/internship experience.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing patient care in a clinical setting to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.
License or Certification: Active Arizona medical license and Federal DEA license required.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements: Board certification in area of specialty or eligibility to obtain certification within one (1) year of hire.
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Other Skills Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Federally Qualified Community Health Centers Electronic health records documentation and navigation.
Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.
Clerical, office practices and procedures.
Research techniques and report writing.
Current MS office software.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
Well-organized and detail oriented.
Ability to: Travel to all department locations within Yavapai County.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
Work professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, victims of crime, witnesses, and the general public.
Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy Work Environment: The work environment is associated with a medical clinic.
The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.
The work involves potential exposure to infections, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens.
Clinical staff are required to use appropriate protective equipment.
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically.
Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
