Job Description:
Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Procedure Room, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and assistance during various medical procedures.
Working closely with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals, you will ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes throughout the procedure process.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for procedures by obtaining informed consent, reviewing medical history, and explaining the procedure process, risks, and benefits.
Assist physicians and healthcare providers during procedures, including positioning patients, preparing equipment and supplies, and providing sterile instrumentation as needed.
Monitor patients throughout procedures, assessing vital signs, pain levels, and responses to interventions, and intervening promptly in case of complications or adverse reactions.
Administer medications, sedation, and analgesics as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring for potential side effects.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after procedures, addressing their concerns and providing comfort measures as needed.
Perform post-procedure assessments, monitoring for signs of complications, and providing appropriate interventions and follow-up care.
Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system, maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to procedure room operations.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care, communicate findings, and ensure continuity of care across settings.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ongoing education, and professional development activities to enhance procedural nursing skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state board of nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a procedural or perioperative setting preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate and respond to patient needs during procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and attention to detail.
