Role
Most positions are evening hours 5:00pm - 1:00am though some exceptions may apply.
Under general supervision, performs service work of routine difficulty in various custodial duties.
Major Duties, Responsibilities
Cleans and maintains County facilities, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, carpet spotting and cleaning restrooms, entries, walkway, and glass using appropriate cleaning solutions.
Performs equipment care, including cleaning and changing belts and bags.
Identifies and reports repair needs and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies for assigned buildings.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
No experience required.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license without restrictions.

Knowledge of:
General cleaning procedures.
Proper chemical usage.
Procedures, materials, and operation of equipment used in custodial work.
Occupational hazards and required preventative measures.

Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicating orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
Organization and adherence to detail.
Ability to:
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Perform manual labor.
Work both independently and under close supervision.
Work in jail environment and around inmates in secured areas.
Mix and work with cleaning fluids, chemicals, or similar solutions using personal protective equipment.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
Work Environment:
The work environment is associated with various indoor and outdoor locations, in all weather conditions and includes exposure to loud noise, blood borne pathogens, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time; move, lift, push, pull a variety of heavy objects; mix and work with cleaning fluids, chemicals, or similar solutions using normal protective equipment; remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically.
Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
