Position Summary:
Reviews and evaluates patient admission information to determine medical and clinical appropriateness for admission.
May conduct Doc to Doc reviews with insurance representatives.
Writing and facilitating appeals for denied admissions or coverage.
Primary Responsibilities
Receives and reviews inquiry calls to determine medical and clinical appropriateness for admission
Identifies callers that meet the admission criteria for the program as well as identifies an appropriate level of care.
Provide professional and thorough communication with external representatives to obtain authorization for admission.

Write appeal letters to insurance companies, as needed, when patient admissions is denied
May facilities the admission process into the program if the caller meets the admission criteria.
Work closely with medical leadership within the company to determine medical and clinical appropriateness of incoming patients.
Work closely with referring agencies and professionals to coordinate medically complex admissions, including record review, telephonic case review and doc-doc reviews.
Works with Intake and Medical/Psychiatry departments within all MBH programs to assist in determining and facilitating admissions that require medical or psychiatry review and approval.

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Graduation form an approved medical school, MD / DO Degree.
Experience in addiction medicine, psychiatry, trauma and eating disorders preferred.
Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
Ability to effectively listen, process received information, and express ideas both orally and in writing in English.
Ability to initiate action, take personal responsibility, suggest improvements, and solve problems within scope of job without being asked.
Ability to understand and comply with government, regulatory, and company rules.
Ability to record, report, and maintain confidentiality of information and respond to requests for information.
Ability to get assigned work done in an acceptable manner, in the time allotted, with minimal prompting or reminders.
