*Job description*
*DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:*
* Provides patient care for residential behavioral health facilities.
* Coordinates medical care with providers as needed.
* Maintains continuity among teams by documenting and communicating actions.
* Conducts new client intakes, assesses, and evaluates client’s continuing needs.
* Performs nursing and nutritional assessments.
* Administers medication passes, manages client prescriptions and medication changes.
* Reviews and audits medication logs daily; with new charts audited within first 24 hours.
* Orders and inventories medications.
* Transcribes all orders onto MAR’s for clients.
* Facilitates initial UDS as ordered.
* Coordinates communication with facility medical practitioners.
* Provides client education and documents the process, in conjunction with medical providers.
* Administers TB screening, medications and flu shots as needed.
* Implements physician’s orders, transcribes orders, enters into EMR.
* Register for PMP AWARE to verify prescribed narcotic or controlled medication history.
* Facilitates patient rounds/vital signs with Residential Staff, performs additional rounds/vital signs, if clinically significant.
* Cleaned and sanitized work areas and medical equipment.
* Knowledgeable in documentation process for a medication administration record (MAR).
* Provides training to staff on medication education, vital signs and emergency processes.
* Required to attend educations and trainings.
* Document client progression through EMR system and review medical records before leaving each shift, ensuring accuracy and signatures when necessary.
* Review HR Self Service Portal weekly for training expirations, workflows or company information.
* Perform Med room refrigerator checks
* Additional duties as assigned.
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

*REQUIREMENTS:*
* Certificated/or completed formal schooling as a Medical Assistant
* At least one-year experience in an equivalent position
* Knowledge of recovery, addictions, and psychiatric conditions preferred
* Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
* Must maintain the highest level of client confidentiality
* Must be a team player, open-minded, flexible, and willing to accept direction and responsibility
* Must work well in a crisis setting and be willing to learn new crisis intervention techniques
* CPR/FA, CPI Training, Fingerprint, and TB clearances
* Prefer experience or familiarity with recovery and a 12-step/ NA/AA and other alternative recovery methods.

*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:*

* The position can be Part Time / Full Time, Non-Exempt.
* You may be required to work holidays, weekends, and shifts within a 24-hour day.
* Variable hour shifts (typically 8-10- or 12 hours).
