We might be a perfect fit for you! Job Summary: The Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological services to the facility including, but not limited to: interpretation, assessment and counseling.
May also provide individual and group supervision.
Active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Responsibilities: Performs psychological assessment of patients through psychological testing and evaluation, behavioral observations and clinical interviews.
Provides input for interpretation of psycho-social assessments.
Writes integrated psychological reports.
Determines appropriateness of patient for treatment based on evaluation of data.
Facilitates individual and group therapy session as needed.
Conducts education group session displaying theoretical knowledge of subject matter and effective communication skills.
Completes all documentation including consultations and progress notes maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the Company.
Active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Communicates psychological findings to the treatment team.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements: A doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an approved college or university.
Licensed as a Psychologist with the State of Arizona or obtain within 60 days of hire.
CPI, CPR and First Aide certification.
Minimum of one years experience in administration and interpretation of psychological tests.
One year experience in chemical dependency and / or eating disorders preferred.
Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
Ability to initiate action, take personal responsibility, suggest improvements, and solve problems within scope of job without being asked.
Ability to understand and comply with government, regulatory, and company rules Ability to record, report, and maintain confidentiality of information and respond to requests for information.
Ability to get assigned work done in an acceptable manner, in the time allotted, with minimal prompting or reminders.
Physical /Working Conditions and Requirements of the Psychologist Position: 65% time sitting (conducting evaluations, meetings, telephone, documentation and computer entry) 10% time standing (patient and staff interface, presentations) 25% time walking (to meetings, appointments with patients) Up to 25% time bending (access files/reports) Up to 25 pounds of weight lifted / carried Ability to use telephones extensively; ability to relay clear written messages; ability to use computer keyboard and calculator extensively.
Ability to effectively read, write and process information; ability to input/retrieve information to/from computer and files.
Ability to converse with others to give, take and process information in English; extensive use of telephone.
Ability to hear alarms and pages.
Ability to converse in English with others to give, take and process information; extensive use of telephone.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, multi-task, coordinate projects and record/transcribe general and specific meeting minutes.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Communicate with other staff to relay concerns and observations involving patient safety.
Occasional/limited exposure to: Infection and to the risk of blood-borne diseases; hazardous agents, body fluids and wastes; unpleasant patient or departmental elements; to potentially violent/aggressive patients/staff/visitors, critical incidents, and/or sentinel events.
Occasionally needed to work irregular hours or additional hours.
