Seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School Ceramics and Sculpture Teacher to join our vibrant art department and inspire students to explore their creativity through three-dimensional art forms.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1.
Develop and implement engaging curriculum and lesson plans that align with state standards, covering various aspects of ceramics and sculpture, including hand-building, wheel-throwing, sculpting, glazing, and other sculpture techniques and materials.
2.
Instruct students on proper techniques, tools, and safety procedures related to ceramics and sculpture work, emphasizing the importance of craftsmanship and creativity.
3.
Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to take risks, experiment with materials, and express their unique artistic vision.
4.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students as they explore and develop their artistic skills, offering support and encouragement to help them reach their full potential.
5.
Manage the ceramics and sculpture studio, including ordering and organizing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe workspace.
6.
Collaborate with colleagues in the art department to align curriculum goals.
7.
Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administrators to discuss student progress, address concerns, and celebrate achievements in ceramics and sculpture.
8.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with emerging trends, techniques, and best practices in art education.
9.
Organize and coordinate student participation in local art shows, exhibitions, and community events to showcase their artwork and foster a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
State teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Art Education.
Previous teaching experience in ceramics and sculpture at the high school level is preferred.
Proficiency in various ceramics and sculpture techniques, including hand-building, wheel throwing, glazing, and other forms of 3D artwork.
Strong knowledge of sculpture principles and materials, such as clay, metal, wood, and found objects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Creative approach to curriculum design and instructional delivery.
Patience, enthusiasm, and passion for teaching and mentoring young artists.
