*Job Responsibilities*
* Assessing and monitoring wounds
* Cleaning and bandaging wounds
* Working collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to determine if additional treatments or changes in care are required
* Educating patients and caretakers on wound care, infection and injury prevention, and pressure ulcer (bed sore) care
* Writing orders to expedite wound healing and avoid skin breakdown
* Ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions.
* Greet newly admitted residents upon admission and participate in the orientation of new residents/family members to the facility.
* Initiates the nursing admission assessment and completes the documentation for the admission process in a prompt and friendly manner.
* Communicates and collaborates with the staff nurse caring for the guest; providing admission assessment findings and guest needs or concerns.
* Requisition and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with established procedures.
* Works within the interdisciplinary team structure to complete the guest’s initial Plan of Care at the time of admission.
* Cooperate with and coordinate social and activity programs with nursing service schedules.
* When not completing admissions assignments, will assist with other nursing tasks and care for patients on the nursing units as needed.
* Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment.
* Ensure that an adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents.
* Administer services within the applicable scope of nursing practice, which may include: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc.

* Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations.
