Scope of Work Social Worker is responsible for providing social services in accordance with the Bureau of indian Affairs as set forth in the 25 CFR Part 20, Financial Assistance and social services Program and 66 BIAM.
The Social Worker determines eligibility for individuals/families who are in need of financial assistance under the following programs: general assistance, child welfare assistance and miscellaneous assistance.
Other duties include minimal counseling, protective services for children and adults, referrals for need services and recommendations to families for needed legal actions.
The Social Worker will work with the Tribal Court to perform duties ordered.
Those duties are included in the 25 CFR 20.

The Social Worker will also work closely with Substance Abuse Director to coordinate services and develop programs as well as outside agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and/or modify annual Statement of Work, the (SOW) for P.
L.
93-638 Social Services Programs.
Prepare and or modify program budgets when required.
Maintain all client records in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affairs and Tribal standards.
Maintain client confidentiality and ethics in accordance with Tribal standards.
Interviews clients family members and other interested parties to assess needs for social services, evaluate client concerns and develop service plans and establish case file.
Counsel clients on available resources, and other areas involving defined problems or concern.
Assist clients in identifying and obtaining basic services needed for independent living and make referarals to public and community agencies providing resources.
Act as a client advocate in obtaining services.
Manage assigned caseload; Prepare narrative and statistical reports: writing contracts and proposals: document case files: prepares and serves legal documents: Testifies in court.
Provide assistance with obtaining and maintaining SSI, AFDC, GA and Medicare on the state level.
Work with youth and program development.
Assist Tribal members in Social Services matters which involve other Tribal programs off reservation.
Qualifications: Must have Bachelor's Degree in a Social Service field.
Pass a background check.
Must have 3-5 years social work experience.
Knowledge of and experience with Native Americans is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of the state benefit system.
Experience working with youth, program development skills.
Knowledge of Child Protective Services.
Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License.
