Responsibilities
Provides leadership oversight and support of the daily operations of the HIM Department including but not limited to prepping scanning indexing ROI birth certificates analysis and reception.
Serves as a resource to the rest of the HIM team.
Qualifications
Minimum
Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field and two years of experience in Health Information Management including Release of Information Deficiency Screening Birth Certificate processing etc
Two years of supervisory level experience
Working knowledge of all HIM functions including transcription and coding DHS/CMS regulations and HIPAA requirements
Active membership in AHIMA
RHIT - RHIT or RHIA credential or demonstrated career path in progress
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals including physicians and other staff providing excellent customer service
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Outlook Word Excel).
Advanced proficiency with electronic spreadsheets including MS Excel preferred
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; Cerner strongly preferred
Pay Range
$25.
