The importance of a coach is to educate students through participation in a competitive sport.
An athletic sports program should be designed to enhance academic achievement and should actively promote opportunities for academic success.
Each student should be treated with the utmost respect, and his or her welfare should be considered in decisions by the coach at all times.
Here a Pathway we know that Coaches play a vital role over students and we are searching for Coaches that will be an example at the highest level.
Coaches are expected to uphold our mission statement and our core values.
Strong ethical and integrity will be evident in all interactions with students, officials, athletic directors, school administrators, state athletic officials, and members of the media or public.
Duties as a Coach
Be knowledgeable of and enforce federal, state and district policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
Follow guidelines for student eligibility
Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants in practice areas, locker rooms, and on buses/vans.
• Support the athletic program by encouraging student participation in all athletic programs.
Ensure accurate inventory, storage, care and collection of all school athletic equipment.
Adhere to the coaches handbook and use of facilities/management of keys
Schedule, organize, supervise and proactively control the environment related to practices, competition and pre/post/off season events.
Knowledge of sport being coached.
