Work Schedule:
One (1) - 19 hour per week position.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required or Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited library school preferred.
At least one year of experience in a library or related setting providing customer service to adults.
Essential Duties:
Delivers one-to-one technology instruction and small group technology instruction
Supports patrons in using public computers and mobile devices
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and library customers
Provides professional front-line library public service work using all types of communication resources, including print, non-print (DVDs, audiobooks), Internet and electronic resources
Provides reader's advisory assistance
Uses authoritative resources to answer questions and make referrals
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics:
Ability to establish relationships with the public and provide effective customer service in a professional manner
Skill in proactively using technology to perform job or enhance customer experience
Ability to deliver one-to-one and small group technology instruction
Skill with diverse software applications and ability to learn new technologies independently.
Experience with Microsoft Office software as well as Windows and MAC operating systems
Experience with Android and iOS mobile devices
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and discretion in performance of duties
Ability to work well with minimal supervision
Knowledge of sources and materials in both print and electronic formats and searching methods and procedures

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a library environment
Must be able to lift, carry, and/or push materials including full book carts, book bins, and lifting tubs weighing up to 50 pounds
Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, tablet, telephone, and e-reader
Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:
