Work under the direction of the Water/Wastewater Operations Manager must exercise considerable independent judgment while operating water, wastewater, and activated sludge wastewater systems.
This position along with the operations manager is responsible for daily operations of the systems.
Candidate will receive occasional supervision, instruction, and assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and must be capable of independent, well informed, technical correct decisions.
Duties include analyze trends and data; monitor equipment and processes through all available means to include gauges, meters, document and review ongoing plant process operations and maintenance issues; optimize processes; economic utilization of materials and equipment; collection and analysis of process samples using laboratory procedures; demonstration of thorough and complete documentation; and systematic review of all process procedures and anomalies.
Computer data entry and organization of information is essential.
This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining and managing the water and wastewater facility information compliance reports and to ensure facilities remain in compliance with Federal and state regulations and statures.
Must be available to respond to emergency call out situations as required.
Assumes responsibility of operations while on assigned shift, weekends, or holidays.
Subject to stand by, or emergency call out during off duty hours.
Skills required:
Thorough working knowledge of principles and techniques in the operation and maintenance of wastewater operations, applicable regulations, related equipment, design, construction, repairs and operation.
Working knowledge in sample collection, preservation and transportation; able to be trained on ADHS laboratory procedures; understanding lab results and regulatory compliance requirements.
