Description of Position Administrative Systems Application Developer Hiring Range: $64,875.
20 - $84,344 First Review Date: 4/19/2024 Yavapai College has a diverse and dynamic environment.
This environment includes Windows and Linux servers.
These servers host the college’s websites, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Furthermore, there are numerous integrations between systems.
Individuals in this position are typically responsible for analyzing and designing applications or subsystems.
This includes the application's documentation, coding, testing, and/or maintenance.
In addition, they are involved with the physical definition and maintenance of databases consistent with the design and control parameters specified by the college or the system’s development standards.
Also, this position will be integral to supporting the implementation of the college’s new cloud-based enterprise resource planning system.
Job placement and compensation will be determined at any job offer based on a combination of experience and qualifications.
Minimum Expectations & Requirements A minimum of an Associate’s degree or combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities A foundational understanding of the theory of computer systems, software design, and programming.
Foundational knowledge of information management platforms and systems.
Foundational knowledge of database design concepts, queries, and tools.
Practical working knowledge of software development techniques and modern languages.
Practical working knowledge of the principles and applications of computerized database technology.
Basic knowledge of web-based application setup and security.
Basic knowledge of Active Directory and how it relates to application security.
Basic knowledge of ADA standards as it relates to user interfaces and usability.
Preferred Skills & Abilities Ability to adapt and learn new skills and systems to meet the changing environment of the college.
Use of utilities and available software products, including office products and software development environments.
Apply testing theory and quality standards applicable to program development.
Perform critical thinking.
Communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
Preferred Technical Skills: Technical Skill Experience Systems Analysis/Design/Integration Ellucian Banner Operating Systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix, MacOS) Webservers (IIS, Tomcat/Apache) Database management systems and associated tools (Oracle and Oracle management tools, SQL Server and SQL Management studio) SQL Software Development Languages (C#, C++, Java, dot.
Net) Scripting (Javascript, Python, PHP, Powershell, Unix shells, vbscript) Web Site Development (HTML, JSON, XML, CSS) Content Management Systems (Wordpress, Drupal, Cascade) File System Security (Windows NTFS, Unix) Windows Active Directory Information System Security Project management Essential Functions Assist in assembling program module specifications, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise software based on documented requirements.
Meet with customers to define application requirements and translate such business needs into technical solutions, including analysis of customer activities, processes, and workflows.
Work with other Information Technology Services staff to complete assigned tasks.
Assist with preparing component, subsystem, and system integration testing for new and modified applications.
Assist end-users in problem resolution.
Prepare and update program and application documentation, including any training materials.
Keep current on software development techniques and principles.
Perform related duties as assigned.
