Vintage Spode Copeland Alenite Henry IV ovenware dishes.
These dishes were the result of a new idea in the ceramic industry in the mid-20th century and were noted as reliable ovenproof ceramic dishes.
The Alenite name was the name given to a short-lived pottery body developed to be 'ovenproof'.
It's the type of ceramic which became known as 'oven-to-tableware'.
The vintage of these dishes date back to the 1960's.
These dishes are in the 60 year old range, yet it's shapes follow the design of moulded game pie dishes of the 1800s.
These dishes are in like new condition and are great for everyday use as well as being a collectors item.
I have used these dishes very little, hence their perfect condition.
